The COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible for SynBioBeta, an innovation network for synthetic biology, to hold its annual convention in a live arena.
However, SynBioBeta still wanted to host a conference. That’s why , the company partnered with EPEAK Studio to make SynBioBeta 2020 an online event, with a very short timeline of less than a month and featuring hundreds of speakers and sessions..
SynBioBeta 2020 is an annual synthetic biology conference sponsored by prominent brands like Unilever, Procter and Gamble, Bayer, etc.
EPEAK Studio managed the event end-to-end, overseeing key elements, from speaker preparation, session pre-recording to live streaming.
All SynBioBeta 2020’s content was pre-recorded due to the large amount of material EPEAK Studio and SynBioBeta had to work with. Our video team designed a layout for the pre-recorded content and edited it for the event.
Our video production team then smoothly streamed those videos across three live concurrent tracks during the event, ultimately producing a flawless simu-live experience.
The conference featured sessions from CEOs, startup founders, and executives from sponsoring companies. It also involved researchers in the synthetic biology field, including George Church, a professor at MIT and Harvard.
EPEAK Studio’s extensive technical expertise, well-organized processes, and successfully-timed content delivery were key factors in the event’s success.
Overall, SynBioBeta 2020 was a complete success. During its three day schedule, three concurrent streams were used, 270 speakers presented a variety of topics, 110 sessions were held, and 26 hours of video content was produced.
Since this event, SynBioBeta has renewed its partnership with EPEAK studio twice, including its next event in early 2021.
